We can turn ON and Turn Off the Tv remotely using IR and IoT technology. We can send the IR code it may ON or OFF etc. to the gateway, then gateway sends it to the client device via the server.
This is an Arduino-based project to remotely control a bank of AC household current outlets through an Ethernet network. The AC outlets are controlled based upon Telnet commands and the system has built in password protection.

This project shows you how to create a customised user interface to trigger a garage door opener through a website hosted by an Arduino. This application comes in handy If you happen to lose your keys and are stuck outside your house .
The internet of things has come to my little apartment in New York City. After about a week of tinkering, soldering, and piecing together bits of code from here and there, I can now load a web page from any browser, see the current temperature in my apartment (and a graph of the last 12 hours), and turn the AC unit on or off with the click of a button. This was accomplished with an Arduino, the open-source prototyping platform and the community of artists, techies and hackers behind it. I’ll show you what it looks like, then I’ll show you how I put it all together (my code is at the bottom if you want to try it yourself!
This project is made of the "IoT2020" that is the open source platform and 4 programming languages on this project to demonstrate the flexibility of the system.(python, arduino, c++, java script) author made a system that can control the water pump as a fuel pump and use gravity to turn a flow sensor for a steam turbine.
